Marrakech, second imperial city,was founded in 1 064 by the Almoravides dynasty.

Unfortunately, there is no more monuments to be seen concerning this dynasty.

The monuments you can admire in Marrakech are those of the Almohades and Saadiens dynasties : la Koutoubia, Bahia Palace and Saadiens tombs;

Visit of the famous place Djemaa el fna : a real miracle yard, where counters, jugglers, musicians, dancers, acrobats and many other artists gathered altogether to give a unique spectacle.

A visit of coloured souks organized as corporations of the Middle Ages will close this excursion.

Green spaces are due to the Almoravides dynasty : these warriors coming from the Sahara made this inhospitable place the most beautiful oasis thanks to the “khetarras” – a kind of underground cisterns – invented by them.

Visit of the Menara, Agdal and Majorelle gardens

Visit of the Walls of Marrakech and the principal Doors of the medina : Bab Doukkala, Bab Jdid, Bab Khemis. We shall end our excursion by the visit of the Tanners souk.

Ourika : luxurious valley rising slowly near the foothills of the High Atlas where villages curiously built near the torrent and hamlets of cob and stones.

A disconcerting and pretty road. A welcoming population living in a quiet and pure place only disturbed by the murmur of the torrent .

Then, departure for Asni/Ouirgane : a berber village a the foothill of Toubkal mountain by crossing Tahanaout village and Moulay Brahim – holy place where an important Moussem takes place every year.

We shall take a green road which crosses the villages of Ait Ourir and Taddert and will become winding and capricious at the approach of the Tichka pass (2260m) to offer a view of Kasbah of a rare beauty.

Ouarzazate : visit of the old city and surroundings ; fortified village of Ait ben Haddou ; Kasbah of Taourirt and Tifoultout.

Moment of meditation on the Mellah Assif (mountain)

Since Juba the Second, it was an important mercantile place, which became a naval one thanks to the pirates. The Portugueses renamed her Mogador, an ancient counter having known the influence of many civilizations.

Departure towards the east of Marrakech, along the walls of Bab Doukkala. We leave rapidly the main road which cross this desert region.

We shall border the Moulay Youssef dam, with Ait Aadel lake and reach Demnate , a small town fortified by the hillside.

Continuation towards Ouzoud waterfalls where water fall at 1000 meters. The Mehasseur Oued (river) stepped over by the natural bridge of Imi-n-fri (Door of the Abyss in Berber) which falls in cascades among huge rocks and end in lake of Ait Aadel, in a landscape of red bare hills.

The road stops at the Kasbah and we shall continue by feet the descent towards the Waterfalls where the view is impressive. Typical lunch
